The LandIS system is designed for maximum flexibility of application of the numerous environmental datasets held within it. Over the years, LandIS data has been put to use in a surprisingly wide variety of ways.
To give just some indication of the extent of the possibilities of the datasets, this section outlines some of the pertinent applications where LandIS information has been, and is being applied:
LandIS, or the Land Information System is one of the offerings of the Soil and Agrifood Institute. Incorporating the National Soil Resources Institute, CSAI is the largest UK national and international centre for research and development, consultancy and training in soils and their interaction with the atmosphere, land use, geology and water resources.
